Summerville Roads Awarded $19M

Three projects receive funding through state Infrastructure Bank.

The S.C. Infrastructure Bank awarded Dorchester County $19 million to address three road improvement projects, according to County Councilman Jay Byars.

The announcement was made Thursday.

  • Widening Bacons Bridge Road (Highway 165) from Carolinian Drive, near Cooks Crossroad, to . It continues the five-lane section from the Bacons Bridge Road Phase 1 project that will start this summer.
  • Improving intersection with traffic signals and turning lanes on Old Orangeburg Road.
  • Acquire right of ways for U.S. Highway 78 Phase 3, running Summerville to Jedburg.
