Suspect Breaks into Gilligan's with Axe

Summerville Police reported an unknown suspect broke into Gilligan's Restaurant on Ladson Road using an axe early Monday morning. 

The suspect was caught on surveillance tape, but Summerville Police have not commented on releasing the video to Patch.

According to the incident report, the suspect allegedly used an axe to gain entry through a window. Once inside, he allegedly opened an empty cash drawer and then took a bottle of liquor from the bar before departing. 

The report describes the suspect as a "younger white male subject, wearing dark shorts and a dark t-shirt, with sandy blonde or brown hair." The report also says it appeared he wore gloves during the incident.

The axe was recovered at the scene.
