Swamp Foxes Defeat Cobras 49-7

In the season opener and on home turf, Ashley Ridge Swamp Foxes staked their territory with a 49-7 win over the Cane Bay Cobras Thursday night.

The game, like many in the region, was rescheduled one day ahead of schedule because of . 

Jacob Thompson, Seamus McKinney, Romelo Doctor and Vernon Moree all made it to the in-zone during the game. 

Most of the points were gained by rushing. Only one touchdown was thrown by Thompson, received by McKinney. Coach Kenny Walker had said during the beginning of the season he was going to focus on the team's physical strength and speed. .

Doctor picked up the most yards rushing (118) and made three touchdowns in the game.

Kicker Dalton Robinson went 7-7 on extra points.

Ashley Ridge next plays 7:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 2, at home for parents' night.
