Thieves Take CPW Weedeater
Summerville Commissioners of Public Works reports theft of $450 weedeater from its service building.

Summerville Police responded to the reported theft of a $450 Stihl weedeater from the Commissioners of Public Works service building Dec. 5.
According to the employee who made the report, the building was locked at 3:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 2, but by Monday, Dec. 5, the weedeater was gone. The chain holding the door closed was reportedly removed.
The building is located at 400 Orangeburg Road.

Police noted no damage to interior or exterior of the building. Looking over the lock, the responding officer surmised that a "key to the door was broken off inside the cylinder which would allow a person to unlock the door with a set of pliers," according to the report.
No other property was reported missing and the case is considered closed despite the property not being located.
