Town Council to Address Signs
Planning committee sends new sign changes to be taken up by town council on Oct. 12.

Bye-bye, clutter — or at least that's what Summerville town staff hopes to achieve with new language regarding putting up signs in the town.
On Wednesday, the town's Planning Committee unanimously voted to send the new language before town council, which meets on Oct. 12.
Since passing a sign ordinance last year, . So town staff has relaxed some rules regarding signs.

Under the new language, sandwich signs are allowed, but only one and it must be on the property of the business. Banners will also be allowed, but only four times a year at 30-day intervals. Putting up a banner will require a permit.
