Video: At-Risk Task Force Formed

All children are at risk, according to Dorchester School District Two Superintendent Joe Pye.

The failing student is at risk, and the child in poverty is at risk. And, likewise, the A-student is at risk and the child in comfort is at risk.

During the school board meeting Aug. 8, Louis Smith addressed the audience on a new community initiative. 

To alleviate risk factors facing Dorchester Two students, Pye, Smith, community leaders and parents have developed a child task force that will have its first event, an all-day crisis summit, Nov. 12 at Summerville High School.

The summit will include guest speakers, workshops and resource exhibitors.
