Two Summerville women accused of beating a child to death could face life in prison.

Two Summerville women charged with the beating death of 3-year-old Serenity Richardson in 2009 have entered their pleas, and could face 20 years to life in prison.
According to The Post and Courier, Shanita Latrice Cunningham, 25, pleaded guilty, and Erica Mae Butts, 25, entered an Alford plea to homicide by child abuse Thursday in circuit court. An Alford means there was enough evidence against her for a conviction.
