1. Motorcyclist killed in crash on Wade Hampton Boulevard in Greer, coroner says (foxcarolina.com) — A motorcyclist from Taylors died Sunday night after a two-vehicle crash on West Wade Hampton Boulevard at Hillcrest Drive in Greer, according to the Greenville County Coroner. He was pronounced dead at Prisma Health Greenville Memorial Hospital, and the death was ruled accidental. The Greer City Police and coroner's office are continuing to investigate the incident.
2. Man tries to cash in stolen scratch-off tickets at QT gas station (wyff4.com) — A man from Greer has been charged by state investigators after allegedly cashing stolen South Carolina Education Lottery scratch-off tickets at a QuikTrip in Simpsonville. SLED says the tickets were taken from a nearby Corner Mart before being redeemed. The suspect was booked into the Greenville County Detention Center on a fraud-related charge, with the 13th Circuit Solicitor's Office handling prosecution.
3. SC Ports Taps McCrory As Chief Operating Officer (dillonnews.org) — South Carolina Ports has named Patrick McCrory as its new chief operating officer, overseeing port terminals and the inland ports in Greer and Dillon. His leadership in rail and logistics is expected to support cargo growth, job creation, and more efficient operations that benefit Greer's inland port and the broader Upstate economy.
4. Public presses Greenville leaders to act on Flock cameras (wyff4.com) — Greer residents should know that two Greer officers were recently fired over alleged misuse of Flock license-plate cameras, as Greenville leaders now face pressure to curb the system. Citizens packed Greenville City Council's meeting urging tighter rules or removal of the cameras. Council members heard concerns about privacy, data storage, and oversight but postponed any decisions while reviewing existing policies and potential changes.
