Dick Brooks Honda Presents $10K Grant to Greer Nonprofit (wspa.com) — Greer Community Ministries just received a $10,000 boost from Dick Brooks Honda to support its Meals on Wheels program serving vulnerable residents around Greer. The grant, funded through South Carolina auto dealers, will help deliver nutritious meals to homebound neighbors, with even more support expected from the dealership's 29th Annual Meals on Wheels Golf Tournament in October.
2. City of Greer opens Public Safety Training Center (whosonthemove.com) — Greer has opened a new $16 million Public Safety Training Center that will let local police, firefighters, and EMS train close to home instead of traveling across the state. The facility features an indoor weapons range, four-story fire tower, and large classroom and vehicle bays, strengthening emergency response for Greer and the broader Upstate.
3. Officials: Two crashes creating traffic in Greer, one fatality reported (foxcarolina.com) — Drivers in Greer should avoid South Highway 14 this afternoon, where two crashes between South Buncombe Road and West Road are backing up traffic and one has turned deadly, according to police and the coroner. Officials urge motorists to use alternate routes while they investigate and clear the scene, with more updates expected.
4. Planner: Networking events in the Upstate, October 2026 (upstatebusinessjournal.com) — Greer professionals have a chance to connect at an Oct. 20 Greer Chamber Ambassadors meetup at Barista Alley on Trade Street, plus other nearby chamber events through early November. The planner lays out times, locations, costs, and contacts so you can plug into regional business networking across Greer, Mauldin, Simpsonville, and Greenville.
