• Wynne native Jacob Keith Watson celebrates Tony Award win with ‘Ragtime' cast (thewynneprogress.com) — A Wynne High School graduate just brought a Tony Award back home, as Jacob Keith Watson and the cast of “Ragtime” won Best Revival of a Musical at the 2026 Tony Awards. Watson, son of a former Wynne High principal, also performed in the televised ensemble and recently earned a Broadway Ensemble Award, giving Wynne residents extra reason to celebrate Broadway this week.
   

• Today in History: June 5 - Since WWII led to a shortage of farm workers in Wynne, German POWs were made available to work on farms (kait8.com) — Wynne once hosted hundreds of German prisoners of war to ease a World War II farm labor shortage, with as many as 2,000 POWs housed in a local camp. Residents agreed to bring in the workers, and nearby Parkin later inspired the novel “Summer of My German Soldier,” based on memories of those same prisoners in the region.
