The package lets county school districts reset tax rates after reassessment, keeps higher commercial rates possible, and expands senior school-tax relief, while also improving assessment data and launching working groups on long-term property tax reforms.

The piece praises New Castle’s cobblestone streets, dense historic downtown, and Delaware River views, noting its role in First State National Historical Park and positioning the town as a standout destination for history‑minded visitors.
   

3. Keeping Kids Safe, One Car Seat at a Time (nccpdnews.com) — New Castle County families can now access more free car seat safety help, with 10 additional county police officers newly certified as Child Passenger Safety Technicians. Residents can schedule inspections or installations to ensure their children’s seats are correctly installed and age-appropriate, getting personalized answers on harness fit, seat direction, and when to move to the next type of seat.
   

4. Should future data centers provide their own power? Delaware debates (delawareonline.com) — New Castle County’s shelved Project Washington data center is part of a broader Delaware fight over how future data centers should pay for and supply their power. Lawmakers advanced two bills that would create special electricity rates for huge energy users and push data centers toward generating their own renewable energy, aiming to shield residents’ electric bills while still attracting jobs.
