• Crews continue fight against area wildfires (bonnercountydailybee.com) — Fire danger is now rated extreme, and Kootenai County is under Stage 1 fire restrictions, limiting campfires and smoking to specific safe areas. Nearby wildfires in Boundary and Bonner counties, plus larger blazes in eastern Washington, continue to burn thousands of acres as crews rely heavily on aircraft and evolving evacuation levels to protect homes, infrastructure, and the Kootenai River Valley.
