4. A quarter-mile, a U-turn, now a verdict: Ada jury convicts driver in fatal crash (idahostatesman.com) — A Meridian man killed while cycling on North Black Cat Road in Kuna has been at the center of a closely watched Ada County trial, where a jury convicted the driver of leaving the scene of an injury crash. Jurors decided the driver’s brief departure and return still counted as fleeing, and she now faces up to five years in prison at sentencing in July.

5. ‘Not giving up on you': Idaho men sentenced in Eagle Foothills kidnapping, attack (idahostatesman.com) — A 22-year-old Meridian man has been sentenced to up to 13 years in prison, with a rider, for his role in a brutal, preplanned kidnapping and assault in the Eagle Foothills. Along with a co-defendant from Eagle, he lured an 18-year-old to a fake photo shoot, then restrained, beat and repeatedly tased him, leading Ada County prosecutors and the judge to call for a serious response.
