Ronkonkoma contractor to build new Ronald McDonald House in Stony Brook – The Long Island Times (litimes.org) — Families with children at Stony Brook Children’s Hospital will soon have a dedicated Ronald McDonald House just a short walk from the bedside, the first in Suffolk County. Construction on the 60,000-square-foot facility with 30 family suites and shared amenities is set to begin this fall, with opening planned for late 2027.

Stony Brook University faculty members join ranks of elite scientists as 2025 AAAS Fellows (tbrnewsmedia.com) — Two Stony Brook University professors have been named 2025 Fellows of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, spotlighting major research talent based right in Stony Brook. First-Inning Surge Lifts Phoenix Past Seawolves (elonphoenix.com) — Stony Brook University’s softball team dropped game two of its CAA series at Elon, 9–2, after the Phoenix exploded for six first-inning runs. The Seawolves will look to bounce back in Sunday’s rubber match, scheduled for 1 p.m. at Hunt Softball Park, with Senior Day ceremonies beforehand.
