1. Hundreds Pack Brentwood Town Hall as Jerri Green Takes Questions From Tennessee Voters (exclusiveaccess.net) — Residents packed a Brentwood conference room Wednesday night to question Democratic gubernatorial candidate Jerri Green about her plans for Tennessee and issues affecting local communities. The standing-room-only town hall, moderated by Justin Kanew, emphasized unscripted questions from voters and came amid debate wrangling with Republican nominee Marsha Blackburn. Green's Brentwood stop is part of a broader statewide tour of public events.
2. Franklin and Brentwood rank among the best small cities in America (tennessean.com subscription) — Brentwood has been ranked the 14th best small city in America by WalletHub, landing in the top 1% nationwide for quality of life, education, health, and safety. The study also highlights Brentwood's strong schools and family-friendly environment, while noting affordability as a relative weak spot compared with other small cities. Franklin, another nearby community, ranked even higher at ninth overall.
3. Former Tennessee Agriculture Deputy Commissioner Ryan King Joining MTE (wgnsradio.com) — Brentwood electric cooperative members will soon see a new face guiding Middle Tennessee Electric's government and community relations, as former state agriculture deputy commissioner Ryan King becomes Chief External Relations Officer on November 2. King's background in cooperatives, broadband expansion, and rural economic development will shape how MTE advocates for local infrastructure and communicates with communities it serves, including Brentwood. He and his family live nearby in Franklin.
4. Judy DeStefano, proud champion of Evanston, dies at 84 (evanstonroundtable.com) — An 84-year-old woman recently died at her son's home in Brentwood after a long journey with Alzheimer's disease, leaving behind family and many friends. Though her life's work and community ties were rooted in Evanston and Chicago, Brentwood was where she spent her final days surrounded by loved ones. A memorial service will be held later this month in Evanston.
