Founded by John and Faith Edwards and their son Adrian, the family-run paper has weathered financial challenges to document civil rights history, confront systemic racism, and give younger generations positive local role models to see themselves in.
• 'He was a hero': Chattanooga family remembers soldier killed in Iraq (foxchattanooga.com) — A Chattanooga mother-in-law is honoring Staff Sgt. Michael Emmanuel Swinton, remembering him as a devoted husband, father, and protector after he was killed during a mission in Iraq. She recalls his kindness, the lives his actions helped save, and urges local families to cherish and support their own service members.
