CARTA extends 10% payment plan discount through September 30 (local3news.com) — If you have unpaid parking tickets in Chattanooga, you now have until September 30 to enroll in a six‑month payment plan and get a 10% discount, or use Food for Fines and Hardship programs. After that, new rules starting October 1 allow the Parking Authority to boot vehicles with multiple long‑overdue citations, though officials say immobilization is a last resort.

Robin MacKillop Is Featured Artist At Townsend Atelier (chattanoogan.com) — Chattanooga art lovers can catch a free lecture with local oil painter Robin MacKillop at Townsend Atelier on Sunday, Oct. 4, from 2-3:30 p.m. She'll share how she uses dramatic lighting in her portrait and figurative work, with plenty of insight into her creative process and challenges. No registration is needed, so residents can simply drop in.
   

3. Chattanooga Man Says He Was Accidentally Shot on Doolittle Street (wdef.com) — Chattanooga police are investigating after a 32-year-old man arrived at a local hospital early Saturday with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to his leg, saying he was accidentally shot on Doolittle Street. Detectives processed the 2400 block scene but report the victim has not cooperated, and no suspect information is available, so they're asking anyone in Chattanooga with details to contact the department.
   

4. TBI investigating man shot by Chattanooga Police Saturday night (newschannel9.com) — Chattanooga residents should know that state investigators are reviewing a Saturday night police shooting on East 17th Street, where officers say an armed, suicidal man was wounded by one officer. The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation will gather facts and report to District Attorney Coty Wamp, while Chattanooga Police promise more details soon.
   

5.
