• Rising diesel prices impacting East Tennessee fire departments (wvlt.tv) — Dandridge's fire department is feeling the squeeze from diesel prices topping $6 a gallon, forcing leaders to consider cutting gear and equipment spending to keep trucks running. Chief Andrew Riley says every diesel-powered truck must idle on scene, quickly burning through the county-funded fuel budget. Nearby Parrottsville faces similar pressures and may rely more on mutual aid and community donations.
