Date Set for Franklin Christmas Parade (williamsonsource.com) ā Franklin residents can mark their calendars for the return of the Franklin Christmas Parade to downtown on Saturday, December 5, 2026, at 1 p.m. Hosted by the Downtown Franklin Rotary Club, this year's "Santa's Helpers, Making Spirits Bright" theme will spotlight local first responders, volunteers, and community leaders who serve Franklin year-round.

2. Is it legal to burn leaves in Nashville, Middle Tennessee? (tennessean.com subscription) ā Franklin residents are reminded that burning brush and leaves is completely banned in the city, unlike many nearby Middle Tennessee communities that allow it with permits. From Oct. 15 to May 15, you must still obtain a free state burn permit for any legal outdoor burning elsewhere, and alternatives like curbside pickup and drop-off sites are highlighted for managing yard waste.

WCS Across the Board ā September 21, 2026 (williamsonsource.com) ā Franklin families may be especially proud that two Franklin High students were honored for National Special Olympics gold medals at the latest Williamson County School Board meeting. The Board also chose a firm to search for a new superintendent, approved key budget amendments for buses and grants, and set calendar and policy items that will shape local schools next year.

NASCAR Hall of Famer Darrell Waltrip steps back from public life for serious health concerns (king5.com) ā Franklin readers are learning that longtime resident and NASCAR Hall of Famer Darrell Waltrip is stepping back from public life after being diagnosed with Frontotemporal Degeneration, possibly complicated by CTE. His family says symptoms are currently minor and he's focusing on time with his wife, daughters, and grandchildren while asking for continued prayers and support.
