1. Heritage Golf Group Acquires Old Natchez CC in Franklin, Tennessee (golfdaily.com) — Heritage Golf Group has purchased Old Natchez Country Club in Franklin pledging new investment in the historic private club's course, clubhouse, and amenities. Located between Franklin and Brentwood, the club offers golf, tennis, swimming, fitness, dining, and a busy social calendar, and will now anchor Heritage's push into the greater Nashville market.
2. Petition Calls for Factory at Franklin to Reconsider Fight Laugh Feast Conference (williamsonsource.com) — A fast-growing petition is pressuring The Factory at Franklin to cancel this week's Fight Laugh Feast "Holy Wars" conference, citing concerns over a featured speaker's past statements. The venue says the event will proceed under its rental policy, while arranging added security and Franklin Police presence. Local restaurant Saffire will honor a related booking but donate proceeds to charity.
3. Nashville's Bill Griese Brings His James Taylor Tribute to Franklin (williamsonsource.com) — A James Taylor tribute concert is headed to the Williamson County Performing Arts Center in Franklin on Thursday, Oct. 28, 2026, at 7 p.m. Nashville singer-songwriter Bill Griese will perform his Sweet Baby James show, featuring classic James Taylor hits and deep cuts in an intimate, stripped-down style. Tickets are on sale now for local fans.
4. Standout TSSAA soccer, volleyball. Vote for Ponce Law Girls Athlete of Week (tennessean.com subscription) — Two Franklin standouts are in the running for this week's Ponce Law Girls Athlete of the Week honor: soccer player Maggie Clark from Franklin High and volleyball setter Ailynn Sagraves from Franklin Christian Academy. Readers can vote online through Oct. 1 at noon, alongside nominees from schools across Middle Tennessee. It's a chance to spotlight local girls' sports achievements.
5. Acadia moves toward $12M settlement of shareholder litigation over care, compliance disclosures (beckersbehavioralhealth.com) — Franklin-based Acadia Healthcare is moving toward a $12 million insurer-funded settlement of shareholder derivative lawsuits over its past care and compliance disclosures, while denying any wrongdoing. A December 10 federal court hearing in Nashville will decide whether to approve the deal and related governance reforms, and Franklin-area shareholders can still file objections by late November.
