• The Knoxville Focus for August 17, 2026 (knoxfocus.com) — Knox County has officially opened its fifth and final dog park at Clayton Park in the Halls Crossroads community, expanding pet-friendly recreation options for North Knoxville residents. Funded in part by the Boyd Foundation's partnership with the county and City of Knoxville, the natural-style park supports a broader push to make Knoxville and Knox County leaders in dog parks per capita.
• Knoxville Pipes & Drums makes history as first Tennessee band at World Championships (actionnews5.com) — Knoxville Pipes & Drums has become the first Tennessee pipe band ever to compete at the World Pipe Band Championships in Glasgow, Scotland, proudly representing East Tennessee. While they didn't reach the finals, the group and its Highland dancers are continuing performances across Scotland before returning home later this week.
