University of Tennessee sees record enrollment, aiding Knoxville's economic growth (wbir.com) — Record enrollment at the University of Tennessee is pumping more money and people into Knoxville, strengthening jobs and local businesses. Economists at UT's Boyd Center say the university's growing payroll and student spending ripple through the city, with expanded programs in business, engineering and arts and sciences helping sustain Knoxville's broader economic boom.
2. Knoxville, East Tennessee Communities Receive More Than $11 Million in State Parks and Recreation Grants (wivk.com) — Knoxville is getting more than $1.15 million in new state grants to upgrade riverfront parks and build a bike skills course at Holston River Park. The funding is part of over $20 million TDEC is investing across East Tennessee, backing projects from splash pads to river access that residents will see roll out over the next few years.

Knoxville braces for busy weekend amid UT record enrollment, sold-out concert and roadwork (wbir.com) — Knoxville drivers should expect extra congestion this weekend as UT's record enrollment, a sold-out Cody Johnson concert at Thompson-Boling Arena, and ongoing work on James White Parkway and I-40 all converge.
