4. Mark Twain's actual family cabin is sitting on a 65-acre farm in Clinton, Tennessee (wheninyourstate.com) — If you are looking for an easy day trip from Knoxville, the Museum of Appalachia in nearby Clinton offers a 65-acre living history village with original cabins, barns, and exhibits. Visitors can step inside Mark Twain's family cabin, explore thousands of Appalachian artifacts, and enjoy live traditional music, all less than 20 miles up I‑75.
5. Blount County Purchasing Department will host Vendor Day on Sept. 16 (thedailytimes.com) — Local vendors from Knoxville and surrounding counties are invited to a Sept. 16 Vendor Day at the Blount County Public Library, where Knoxville's Community Development Corporation, KUB, the City of Knoxville, and Knox County buyers will be on site. It's a chance to learn how to bid, register in IonWave, and connect directly with multiple public purchasing teams.
