With the median Knoxville listing at $462,450, recent foreclosed properties have sold for more than 27% below estimated value, creating opportunities for budget-conscious buyers but also signaling stress for some homeowners.

Knoxville Inventory Grows as Prices Hold Near Flat (newsbreak.com) — If you're house-hunting in Knoxville, you now have more choices, with active listings up 6.3% year-over-year and 3,749 homes on the market. Organizers say they're prioritizing long-term stability and will share relocation updates and ways to support a future reopening online, while suggesting other East Tennessee haunts in the meantime.
   

4. Sloan Grant Targets AI Reliability in Scientific Software (scienmag.com) — A University of Tennessee, Knoxville engineering professor has secured a $430,000 Sloan Foundation grant to make AI-generated scientific software more reliable and transparent. Working from UT's Min H. Kao Department, his team will study how researchers use AI to write and test code, then create open-source tools and guidelines to keep scientific results trustworthy as AI advances.
