Teenager Killed, Another Charged Following Shooting at Knoxville Home (wivk.com) — A 15-year-old boy has died after being shot at a Knoxville home on Juniper Drive, and another 15-year-old has been charged with reckless homicide. Knoxville police say the gun went off while one teen was handling it around noon on October 7, and investigators are still seeking additional information from anyone who may have seen or heard something.
3. Knoxville Hosts International Engagement Scholarship Consortium Conference (wivk.com) — Knoxville is hosting an international Engagement Scholarship Consortium conference this week at the Knoxville Convention Center, spotlighting the city and the University of Tennessee's community partnerships. Mayor Indya Kincannon and UT President Randy Boyd welcomed visitors, highlighting Knoxville's growth, quality of life, and the importance of listening to local communities while encouraging attendees to explore downtown businesses and attractions.
