• Public Notices – Murfreesboro Post – September 08, 2026 (mainstreetmediatn.com) — La Vergne residents are invited to an October 6 public hearing at City Hall on major zoning changes, including a proposal to rezone over 50 acres on Old Nashville Highway from mixed to high-density residential. The notices also list a La Vergne foreclosure sale on Chyntara Drive and legal, estate, and foreclosure announcements affecting properties across Rutherford County, including Lavergne addresses.
• Creating a common language for leadership (firerescue1.com) — La Vergne's fire chief reflects on how he reshaped La Vergne Fire Rescue by building a shared understanding of leadership, accountability, and professional development. He describes moving the department from simple compliance to curiosity by encouraging education, statewide networking, and one-on-one mentoring. His goal is for La Vergne Fire Rescue to become a model "beacon" department for the region.
• Stevie Lamar Cooper (maurycountysource.com) — Family and friends in La Vergne may wish to note that Stephanie Baugh's brother, Stevie Lamar Cooper of Columbia, Tennessee, has passed away at age 61. Services are scheduled in Columbia on September 18 and 19, with visitation and burial at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens. He is remembered as a longtime Taco Bell area coach and minister of music at Calvary Baptist Church.
