MEMPHIS, TN — The NCAA has charged the University of Memphis and basketball coach Penny Hardaway with several Level I and Level II infractions, according to a report from The Daily Memphian.

A notice of allegations obtained by the newspaper detailed four Level I allegations and two Level II allegations with another allegation unspecified. The NCAA's findings accuse Hardaway of being directly involved in one Level I violation and two Level II infractions, the most serious and a "significant breach of conduct," according to the report.

The investigation ran from May 2019 to February 2021, matching the timeline of allegations against former Memphis center James Wiseman, who has since been drafted by the Golden State Warriors of the NBA.
