Here are the top three stories in Nashville today:

  1. The investigation into the Covenant School shooting revealed that shooter Audrey Hale had planned the shooting for months. According to police, the investigation showed Hale fired a total of 152 rounds (126 rifle rounds and 26 nine-millimeter rounds) from the time the assailant shot into the school to the time Hale was shot and killed by police. MNPD said the new details about the shooter came after reviewing several pieces of writing that were found in Hale's bedroom and car, which was parked near the school. (NPR)
  2. In a protest organized by March for Our Lives, Nashville students walked out of school Monday following the shooting at the Covenant School in Green Hills. March for Our Lives, a nonprofit group advocating for action on gun violence, called for Nashville students to walk out of their classrooms to “demand gun safety” from their legislators. After students walked out of their classes Monday at 10:13 a.m., students, parents, and other supporters gathered at the Tennessee Capitol to protest. They carried signs and read a list of the names of those killed in the Covenant School shooting one week ago. Speakers also addressed the crowd from a podium before they moved into the Capitol building. (WKRN News 2)
  3. Kaylee's Floral Designs is offering customized free grave site decor for families going through the tragic loss of a child. Kaylee Lunsford started Kaylee's Floral Designs in 2021, and after seeing how the arrangements helped her family when her nephew passed away in 2003, Lunsford decided to reach out to families grieving the loss of a child. Lunsford builds a relationship with the families and follows up throughout the year to make arrangements for holidays such as Easter, Halloween, and Christmas. To get in touch with Lunsford regarding grave site decor for a loved one, email her at kayleefloraldesign@gmail.com. (News Channel 5 Nashville)
