Anheuser-Busch sues Tennessee over nearly $1.9 million tax refund dispute (fox17.com) — A major tax fight has landed in a Nashville courtroom, where Anheuser-Busch is suing Tennessee's revenue commissioner over nearly $1.9 million in franchise tax refunds it says it's owed. Filed in Davidson County Chancery Court, the lawsuit challenges how the state calculates franchise taxes and even questions the constitutionality of parts of Tennessee's tax law, with potential implications for other large businesses.
   

5. Maury County Fire Department calls for community support after public servant severely injured in ATV wreck (wsmv.com) — Middle Tennessee readers are being asked to rally around Maury County public servant James Lee "Pugs" Johnson after he was severely injured in an ATV wreck in East Tennessee and airlifted for extensive treatment. The Maury County Fire Department is urging community members to help support the longtime volunteer firefighter, EMT and current sheriff's deputy as he recovers from serious injuries detailed in an online fundraiser.
