State leaders discussing audit of Metro Schools, House Speaker confirms (fox17.com) — State leaders are weighing whether to order a costly forensic audit of Metro Nashville Public Schools, even as Metro has already budgeted about $800,000 for its own comprehensive performance review. Any state audit would require General Assembly approval and funding when lawmakers return to Nashville in January, potentially reshaping oversight and public confidence in how MNPS spends taxpayer dollars.
3. Nashville Nonprofit Launches New Music Program for People Experiencing Housing Insecurity (nashvillenoise.com) — Nashville's Daybreak Arts is launching a free multi-week music program for people experiencing homelessness or housing insecurity, starting with a Music Jam Session & Open Mic this Sunday. The first gathering runs 2–5 p.m. at Trinity Community Commons on E. Trinity Lane in North Nashville, with instruments, volunteers, and space for anyone to perform, play, or simply listen.
4. Herron cedes to McCarthy after great Habitat tenure (tnledger.com) — A longtime leader of Habitat for Humanity of Greater Nashville has retired, with housing finance veteran PJ McCarthy stepping in to guide the nonprofit's next chapter. The piece also spotlights a $5 million sale on Sunnyside Drive, underscoring how soaring property values and rising taxes are reshaping Nashville's luxury housing market and affordability conversation.
5.
