Teaching a child to be responsible is a probably something most of us don't think of. We just think they should know better and do better, but, that couldn't be farther from the truth! As an adult first and foremost, we are the example that a child most likely looks up to. Are we doing the right thing? Are we making good choices? And, are we thinking about our actions before doing them?

When I taught preschool and a child came in grumpy or crabby, I needed to know the reason why. We had conversations and I was able to break down the emotions and bring them around to a happy mind set. I always asked them if they had a smile in their heart or pocket and to put it on and share it with us! Remember, you choose your attitude!

Today many focus on a positive mindset with affirmations, etc. And, it's important to know that we are in charge of our own attitude and should try to make it a good one, it's much too draining to be grumpy in my opinion. Don't let anyone take away your joy, wear it daily and fuel it often!
