Dunn dismissed from hemp seizure lawsuit (themountainpress.com) — A federal judge has dismissed District Attorney Jimmy Dunn from a lawsuit over a Sevierville hemp seizure that allegedly ruined nearly $1 million in legal product, leaving Sevierville Police's earlier settlement as the only resolved piece. The ruling found Dunn protected by prosecutorial immunity and said the plaintiff wasn't under imminent threat, while remaining claims against unnamed officers and assistants were later dropped with prejudice.
2. Alzheimer's Tennessee's walk is less than month away (themountainpress.com) — Sevierville residents are invited to join the Alzheimer's Tennessee Smoky Mountain Walk at Sevier County High School on Saturday, Oct. 24, with registration starting at 9 a.m. and ceremonies at 10. Organizers hope to raise $160,000 to support families facing Alzheimer's and dementia, and encourage locals to form teams, donate, and take advantage of the convenient new location and facilities.

Next court date for Smith set for Oct. 21 (themountainpress.com) — Sevierville's city administrator Dustin Smith remains suspended with pay while facing a domestic assault charge stemming from an incident in Washington County, with his next court date set for Oct. 21. Court notes show the alleged victim later called the situation a misunderstanding, while Smith denies assaulting anyone and says he'll fight the charge through the legal process as an interim administrator leads city operations.
