ā¢ Springfield BOMA approves additional funds for new fire station (mainstreetmediatn.com) ā Springfield leaders have approved an extra $1.15 million so construction can begin on the cityās third fire station, bringing the total project cost to $8.15 million. The new South Main Street-area station, with individual bunk rooms and space for four trucks, is on a 12āmonth construction schedule and will be funded from the cityās general fund reserves.

ā¢ County Commission names archives building after local archivist (mainstreetmediatn.com) ā Robertson County commissioners have officially renamed the county archives building on South Willow Street in Springfield as the Yolanda Reid Memorial Archives of Robertson County, honoring her four decades of preserving local history. Residents can continue using the Springfield archives, now backed by a dedicated website of indexes Reid helped build, to research family roots and county records dating back to the 18th century.
