LUBBOCK, TX — A 40-year-old high school art teacher has been charged with allegedly having an improper relationship with a student. Scott Riley Hall, 40, was placed on administrative leave from Lubbock ISD Monday after being charged at the state and federal level, everythinglubbock.com reported.
Hall, who was called "art dad" by students, allegedly had sex with a 16-year-old girl in her room, everythinglubbock.com added. Hall was spotted holding the girl's hand in public. When the girl's mother approached her daughter, she said she and Hall had "kissed and stuff."
The girl's mother ended up texting Hall and telling him to stop interacting with her daughter.

“I let my care for her cross the line. It was a mistake to hurt the two of you,” Hall allegedly texted back, according to the warrant obtained by everythinglubbock.com. “I never wanted to hurt anybody. It was misguided affection. I will do anything you ask to keep this from being a legal or professional situation. I will truly do anything at all. I am not a predator, and this had never happened nor will it again. I promise with everything that I am.”
Hall was being held at the Lubbock County Detention Center as of Wednesday afternoon.
