Beto O'Rourke Raised More Than $38 Million In Three Months

The staggering figure was raised from July 1 through September 30 only.

Rep. Beto O'Rourke has raised an astonishing $38.1 million in three months in his hopes of unseating Sen. Ted Cruz. The amount, which was raised between July 1 and September 30 and does not include money from political action committees, has only further cemented the Texas race as the most expensive in the U.S.

"The lesson for Democrats from 's massive fundraising number is that you don't need to compromise for corporate PAC and lobbyist money if your run an inspirational, inclusive, and authentic grassroots campaign," Dan Pfeiffer, former adviser to President Barack Obama, tweeted Friday. "The money is there for the right candidate and campaign."

Texas' senate race has raised $80 million. The second costliest race is Massachusetts with $70.6 million, the Dallas Morning News reported.
