Over 50 arrested in North Texas World Cup human trafficking sting (fox4news.com) β Arlington police played a central role in Operation Red Card, a World Cupβperiod human trafficking crackdown that led to 56 arrests across Tarrant County and identified more than 40 potential trafficking victims. Several sting days were conducted with Arlington officers, including one mid-June operation where 13 men were arrested on felony solicitation charges, and investigations and additional warrants are still ongoing.

Off-Duty Arlington Police Officer Shot in Dallas, 33-Year-Old Man Arrested (irvingweekly.com) β An off-duty Arlington police officer is recovering in stable condition after being shot early Sunday morning in Dallas, where a 33-year-old suspect was arrested at the scene. Dallas police say the man faces multiple felony charges while investigators work to understand what led to the gunfire. The officer's name and details about their connection to the suspect have not been released.

Plano offers Texas' best internet value at $0.33 per Mbps (cw33.com) β Arlington ranks among the top Texas cities for broadband value, with residents paying about $0.36 per megabit of speed according to a new national pricing study. Plano leads the state at $0.33 per Mbps, while several other North Texas cities also score well. The findings highlight how competitively priced high-speed internet has become across much of the region.
