β’ City Hosts Paper Shredding, Electronics Recycling Event Oct. 3, 2026 (arlingtontoday.com) β Arlington residents can safely shred sensitive papers and recycle old electronics for free on October 3, 2026, at the UTA parking lot at Mitchell and Cooper. The city event runs from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., requires proof of residency, limits paper to two boxes per vehicle, and excludes large appliances containing Freon.

β’ Two Arlington residents die in Hillsboro car crash Saturday night, DPS says (star-telegram.com) β Two Arlington residents, Zachary and Katherine Barton, both 39, were killed Saturday night in a five-vehicle crash near Hillsboro, and a 12-year-old child remains in critical condition. Investigators say a Ford Fiesta first hit farm equipment on State Highway 171, triggering a chain of collisions that struck people standing on the roadway. DPS believes alcohol may have contributed to the initial crash.
