Arlington City Working To Connect Arlington Residents To Community Resources

The City of Arlington continues its work to support youth and families by connecting people with community resources that can help them with food, transportation, housing and employment assistance and other needs.

During Mayor Jeff Williams’ virtual town hall about the coronavirus pandemic and COVID-19 on March 31, the City asked residents who listened in by phone to leave a message if they needed special assistance at this time. More than 12,000 people listened in on the call. City staff are currently reaching out to 128 residents who indicated they needed help to learn more about what resources they might need and to refer them to the appropriate agency.

The Aging and Disability Resource Center, which can be reached at 1-888-730-2372, can also offer free advice about meal delivery, eligibility requirements for benefits, help calling for information and referrals, understanding resident rights in nursing homes and assisted living facilities, maintaining health and helping with home safety modifications.
