Arlington Fire Department’s Mass Vaccine Site Expected To Achieve 48,000-Plus Coronavirus Vaccinations During First 6 Weeks Of Operation

For efficiency, the Fire Department will administer second-dose vaccinations on different dates than first-dose vaccines.

The Arlington Fire Department is expected to complete 6,700 second-round COVID-19 vaccinations by tomorrow before administering an additional 8,000 first-round vaccine shots throughout the rest of the week.

Arlington firefighters and American Medical Response, the City’s contracted ambulance provider, have already administered more than 30,700 first-round doses and 2,913 second-round doses of the Moderna vaccine during the first five weeks of the large-scale vaccination effort, which is expected to last for months. The Arlington site, which serves Tarrant County and 10 other surrounding counties, is located inside a large exhibit hall at Esports Stadium Arlington + Expo Center, 1200 Ballpark Way.

The Arlington Fire Department is prepared to administer approximately 8,000 first shot doses provided by the state between Wednesday and Friday of this week to individuals who have confirmed appointment times from Tarrant County Public Health. The vaccine site will remain open until the allotment is depleted.

Arlington is also preparing to administer second-round vaccinations next week to the 8,336 individuals who received their first vaccines at the City’s site between Jan. 11 and Jan. 15. The Fire Department will reach out by email and/or text message directly to those individuals with follow-up vaccination appointment information.

For efficiency, the Fire Department will administer second-dose vaccinations on different dates than first-dose vaccines.
Individuals who receive confirmation of a second-dose appointment next week are asked to:

1. Bring their vaccine card given at the time of the first dose

2. Arrive within their appointment time frame

Additionally, individuals who received the first dose vaccines at the Arlington site on Jan. 21 or later will be contacted by the Fire Department with information on when to return to the Esports Stadium Arlington + Expo Center. The Fire Department is scheduling second-dose vaccination dates as vaccine allotments are provided by the state.
