On Wednesday, March 18 at 1:30 p.m., Midas of Arlington, located at 3120 W. Pioneer Pkwy., Arlington, TX, gifted a refurbished Chevy Traverse to Kintalee Mims, a 26-year-old mother of two who is rebuilding her life and creating stability for her family.

At just 26, Kintalee Mims is a determined mother of two who has been working hard to provide stability for her family. After connecting with The Women’s Center through a Life Skills presentation at Safe Haven in Arlington in June 2025, she quickly enrolled in an information session and completed the intensive Jobs Now Workshop. Within six weeks, she secured employment with VIA in Arlington and moved from transitional housing into her own apartment.

Despite this progress, Kintalee continued to face transportation challenges, relying on costly Uber rides to commute to work and manage childcare, making even routine tasks difficult and expensive.

“When we heard Kintalee’s story, we knew we wanted to help,” said Lisa Vaughn, Midas franchisee. “Her determination to build a better life for her children truly embodies the resilience we celebrate during Women’s History Month.”

The donation was part of the Midas Project Spark program, which helps individuals and families regain reliable transportation and independence.

With support from Advance Auto Parts supplying the parts, Midas purchased a vehicle and donated the labor to ensure it was mechanically sound and reliable.

Kintalee received a refurbished vehicle, making it easier for her to get to work, care for her children, and continue building a secure future for her family, a powerful reflection of the impact of investing in women’s advancement.
