Spring is in full swing and Arlington Parks & Recreation has a month filled with fun activities for a variety of ages and interests! Mark your calendar for these upcoming April events.

Arlington Bass Classic – Saturday, April 10th
Arlington Parks & Recreation will host the 8th Annual Arlington Bass Classic on April 10th, 2021 at Lake Arlington. Cash prizes will be awarded to the top 6 teams for biggest stringer, as well as for the team that reels in the largest bass of the event. This tournament is open to all anglers; however, participants age 17 or under must have a parent or guardian authorization on their registration form. Grand Re-Opening of Bob Cooke Park – Saturday, April 17th
You are invited to come celebrate the grand re-opening of Bob Cooke Park on April 17th, 2021! After months of construction and improvements, this FREE event will unveil the park’s brand new Futsal courts, Pop’s Playground – Otis Brown Court, and other exciting park updates. The outdoor event will begin at 10 a.m. at 2025 Craig Hanking Dr.

Tents & Tales Campout – Friday, April 23rd - Saturday, April 24th
Join together for an overnight campout under the stars at River Legacy Park. The night will include dinner, a movie (this year’s movie will be “Onward”, rated PG), sleeping bag story time, and a good old-fashioned sing along. Families love to take part in this unique camping event year after year! The campout will begin on Friday at 4 p.m. and end Saturday morning at 8 a.m.
Teen Night at East Library & Recreation Center – Saturday, April 24th
East Library & Recreation Center is extending their hours on April 24th just for teens! Those ages 13-17 are welcome to come play basketball, swim in the indoor pool, and hang out with friends in a safe environment. Entry is $5 per teen and the event will last from 6-8 p.m.
Sports Clinics at The Beacon Recreation Center – Various Dates
Throughout April, The Beacon Recreation Center is offering a variety of sports clinics aimed at laying a foundation of basic skills through exciting drills, games, and activities for basketball, volleyball, and even skateboarding!
Basketball clinics
will be held on April 12th and April 26th from 5-7 p.m.
Volleyball clinics
will be held on April 7th from 6-8 p.m. and on April 26th from 5-7 p.m.
Skateboarding 101 is open to ALL AGES and will teach intro level techniques along with a few tricks. This class will be held on April 17th from 10-11 a.m.
