Arlington Residents Invited To Participate In Dec. 14, Dec. 17 Virtual Public Meetings For East Arlington Street Rebuild Projects
Funding for these projects was approved by Arlington voters as part of the $160 M street improvements package in the 2014 Bond Election.

The Public Works and Transportation Department is pleased to announce that construction on portions of two residential streets in East Arlington is scheduled to begin early next year.

Beginning in January, contractors will begin rebuilding Daniel Drive between Green Hill Drive and Cloudcroft Drive and Miriam Lane between Hillcrest Drive and Watson Road.

These projects are part of the City’s program to rebuild residential streets throughout the city that have deteriorated beyond general maintenance. The following improvements are planned for each location:
• Rebuilding the asphalt roadway to a concrete surface with an expected useful life of 50 years
• Construction of sidewalks with ADA compliant ramps
• Streetlight improvements
• Rebuilding driveways to the right-of-way
• Stormwater drainage infrastructure improvements
• Sanitary sewer infrastructure improvements
• Water utilities infrastructure improvements (Miriam Lane location only)
Residents interested in learning more about these projects are invited to participate in a virtual public construction briefing meeting for each project.

Funding for these projects was approved by Arlington voters as part of the $160 million street improvements package in the 2014 Bond Election. These projects align with the City Council’s priorities to Enhance Regional Mobility and Champion Great Neighborhoods.
