The River Legacy Foundation is encouraging creativity with its 2020 children's art contest. As more families stay close to home, the Foundation is reminding everyone you don't have to go far to find beauty in nature. This year's theme is "Get creative with what's native."

Children from preschool to 8th grade are invited to participate. Entrants must draw or paint a plant or wildlife native to Texas. Artwork must be sized 8.5 by 11 inches. No photography is allowed. Click here for a list of suggested subject matter and complete contest rules.

Entries must be submitted by May 31, 2020. You can email the finished entry to contest@riverlegacy.org. You must also include a submission form.

Submissions will be sorted by the artist's grade level before being reviewed by a panel of judges. Prizes include:

  • Preschool (3 & 4 year olds) – Whooo Visits the Pond Package
  • Grade levels Kindergarten-3rd – Bike
  • Grade levels 4th-5th – Wireless Headphones
  • Grade levels 7th-8th – TV
