The City of Arlington is committed to putting technology to work for residents. In August 2019, Arlington Water Utilities updated its communication methods to include an email message automatically sent out to customers who were facing disconnections due to delinquency within 24 hours.
These customers were already receiving termination notices by mail in additional to their city services bills. The new emails included helpful information on convenient payment options and encouraged to make arrangements that could save them potential fees if a disconnection occurred.

In the months since the new emails have been sent, the number of disconnections due to delinquency has dropped an average of 17 percent.
