Because of demolition necessary to begin making these improvements, the public park near Lake Arlington will be closed to vehicle traffic starting Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2021. Boaters are encouraged to use Richard Simpson Park, located at 6300 W. Arkansas Ln., until further notice.

The Arlington City Council approved a $480,000 contract Sept. 29, 2020, with AUI Partners of Fort Worth, for the project, which is expected to be complete by May.
