Lifetime Arlington ISD Students Lead Class Of 2020

The coronavirus pandemic forced Arlington ISD to take a new approach to graduation. But with all the changes, one thing remains the same — lifetime AISD students are on a clear path to success.

Ten of this year's 14 salutatorians and valedictorians attended Arlington ISD schools from pre-k through their senior years, including Lamar High School salutatorian Joseph Khair.

"It's been amazing just having the community we do have," Khair said. "I love Arlington. It's based off diversity, and that's how we've thrived so many years."

Arlington ISD was able to hold socially-distanced graduation ceremonies at AT&T Stadium. While it wasn't the senior year students hoped for, many say they're taking life lessons with them. And their hard work still paid off.

"There are things like COVID that can throw our plans awry," Khair said. "The thing I've learned most is you kind of roll with punches life throws you."

"It's good to have good people around you. Have yourself surrounded with people who support you," said Seguin High School valedictorian Tracy Nguyen.
