Movie Theaters Reopening Across Arlington

After closing to slow the spread of coronavirus, movie theaters across Arlington are reopening with new safety protocols in place.

After closing to slow the spread of coronavirus, movie theaters across Arlington are reopening with new safety protocols in place. Most theaters are also offering deals on admissions or concessions. We've put together information on each theater for families missing the big screen experience.

Studio Movie Grill

Studio Movie Grill has locations at the Arlington Highlands and Lincoln Square. Both locations have reopened with new releases and $5 tickets for older films.

Tickets are now available online, through the company's app or at self-serve kiosks in the lobby. Food and drink orders can now be placed at kiosks, through the app or by using a button on your seat. The theaters are also open at limited capacity with mandatory masks for employees and guests. Click here to learn more about the safety protocols in place.

AMC at The Parks Mall

The 18-screen AMC theater at The Parks Mall has now reopened at 40 percent capacity, to allow for social distancing. The theater is showing a mix of older films and new releases. The re-released films are discounted. The chain is also offering $5 concession stand specials including popcorn, soda and kids' packs.

Along with the limited capacity, the theater also requires masks to be worn at all times, except when eating or drinking in the theater. No cash is accepted at the concession counter and hand sanitizing stations have been set up throughout the building. Click here to learn more.

Movie Tavern: Green Oaks Cinema

The Movie Tavern, located at I-20 and Green Oaks Blvd., has not reopened. But according to a post online, theater owners say a reopening date is coming soon.
