Arlington was one of four Dallas-Fort Worth locations selected for a day of service as part of PBR’s Be Cowboy initiative. On Feb. 14, bull riders from the United States, Australia, Brazil, Canada and Mexico dispersed throughout the greater DFW area, visiting animal shelters and children’s hospitals.

Arlington Animal Services was extremely excited about being one of the stops! Matt Triplett (Team USA Eagles), Claudio Montanha Jr., Kaique Pacheco, Dener Barbosa (Team Brazil), Jared Parsonage, Dakota Buttar (Team Canada), Brady Fielder and Aaron Kleier (Team Australia) spent two hours helping socialize the adoptable animals and learning about Arlington’s shelter.

At each stop, the riders also presented each organization with a $2,000 donation on behalf of the PBR. The donation to Arlington Animal Services will help with the efforts to raise money to build the K9 Memorial Monument dedicated to working dogs, whose deeds and sacrifices will always be remembered.

“That’s huge, to be able to go to an organization that’s going to use it for animals that come here, and just all-in-all help support dogs that get left or basically abandoned,” Team USA Eagles Matt Triplett said. “So money that can go to that, it’s a huge honor to be able to do something like that.”
