Arlington Public Library
The Arlington Public Library has a full week of special events planned along with its normal lineup of activities. Click here for a full calendar.
Create Studio: For Families
Ages: Birth - 12 years old
Location: George W. Hawkes Downtown Branch
Schedule:
Saturday, March 7, 1-5 p.m.
Monday, March 9, 3-5 p.m.
Tuesday, March 10, 2-3:30 p.m.
Wednesday, March 11, 2-3:30 p.m.
Friday, March 13, 4-5:30 p.m.
Ready. Set. CREATE! Bring the whole family to create with a room of recycled materials and supplies.
Discover Day
Ages: 5-12 years old
Location: George W. Hawkes Downtown Library
Monday, March 9, 3-5 p.m.
Bring your curiosity, imagination and hunger to explore as we enjoy STEAM-based activities for the whole family.
Stop-Motion Movie Making
Ages: 9-12 years old
Location: Southeast Branch
Tuesday, March 10, 1:30-3 p.m.
Wednesday, March 11, 1:30-3 p.m.
We’ll write, build and record movies using LEGO StoryStarter kits and STEAM skills in this two-day camp.
Sewing Camp
Ages: 9-18 years old
Location: George W. Hawkes Downtown Library
Tuesday, March 10 - Thursday, March 12, 2-3:30 p.m.
Learn how to use sewing machines and make a project. Spots are first-come, first served.
On March 10, please come to our Maker Space up to 30 minutes early to reserve your spot for all three days.
Family Crafternoon
All ages
Location: Northeast Branch Library
Thursday, March 12, 2:30-4 p.m.
Take the entire family for a fun, seasonal craft.
Arlington Parks & Recreation
Whether you're looking for a day of various activities or interested in learning a new sport, Arlington Parks & Recreation has something for the entire family to enjoy.
There will be full-day spring break camps at:
- Cliff Nelson Recreation Center
- Dottie Lynn Recreation Center
- Elzie Odom Athletic Center
- Hugh Smith Recreation Center
The camps are $35 per week.
There are also children's camps planned at the Arlington Tennis Center.
And if your child is interested in cooking, Dottie Lynn Recreation Center is also offering a Cooking 101 Mini Camp.
Salvation Army YET Center
The Salvation Army's Youth Education Town is offering a week of activities for children, no matter if they've been to the Center before.
The day camp will be available from 7:30 a.m. until 6 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Registration is $45 for a family's first child, $35 for the second and $20 for each additional child. (This amount may be slightly higher based on income.)
