• Central Texas is rejecting Flock license plate readers. What will Austin do? (statesman.com) — Bastrop is among several Central Texas cities moving to cut ties with Flock Safety's automated license plate reader cameras after state and local concerns about privacy and data sharing. While Austin debates whether to adopt different surveillance tools, civil liberties advocates and law enforcement leaders are clashing over how, or if, this technology should be used to investigate crimes across the region.
